So much amazing art went up here in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District a few weeks back during Art Basel like this stencil of a hooded figure by artist Joe Iurato. Unfortunately, as fast as some of these pieces went up, they were buffed. The clean up started almost immediately. Business owners were out there with their paint rollers transforming beautiful murals into plain white walls, and in the case of this wall, a drab brown wall. I was fortunate enough to get a shot of this short-lived piece so that I could share it with all of you. More on Joe Iurato here.

Spotted these Dropmen by French artist Florence Blanchard, aka Ema, who was recently here in Miami for Art Basel 2011 where she completed a mural of a classic Chevy in the Wynwood Arts District. More on Ema here.

Artist Gaia has been keeping busy in Miami for Art Basel 2011. After completing a mural of Henry Flagler at Wynwood Walls, wheatpasting numerous images around the city, and collaborating on a piece with La Pandilla, he recently completed this piece here in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District. I really like the way he incorporated the flood light into his piece as you can see in the photo below. More on Gaia here.
